Commencement of Legislative Activities in Rabat

This session is particularly dedicated to assessing the government's performance while simultaneously paving the way for a revitalized parliamentary dynamism through intensified legislative activities and enhanced oversight mechanisms. President Ould Errachid highlighted the critical need to establish a balance between the legislative and executive powers while enhancing the quality of public actions to meet citizens' expectations. A variety of significant legislative proposals are expected to be reviewed in the coming days, some of which are nearing adoption or are in consultation stages. Furthermore, the President advocated for the expedited processing of legislative proposals from advisors, viewing them as a crucial catalyst for invigorating legislative action.
Additionally, the Chamber is placing a strong emphasis on revising its internal regulations to align with the new demands of parliamentary work. An updated proposal will soon be submitted to the relevant bodies, in coordination with the House of Representatives and prior to its submission to the Constitutional Court. During the intersession, advisors continued to fulfill their oversight responsibilities through both written and oral questions, totaling 215 written inquiries and 451 oral questions, with 143 responses received.
The current session will also feature a presentation of the report by the Chief President of the Court of Auditors regarding the activities of financial jurisdictions for the fiscal year 2024-2025. On an international front, the Chamber of Advisors has fortified its presence in regional and international parliamentary arenas, enhancing its bilateral and multilateral partnerships in alignment with Moroccan diplomatic objectives.
