High-Level Military Meeting Between Morocco and UAE

Under the esteemed directives of His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, may God assist him, General Corps of Army Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, hosted General Division Issa Saif Bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, during an official visit to the Kingdom on Tuesday at the headquarters of the General Staff of the FAR in Rabat. This significant meeting was attended by a prominent delegation from the UAE.

Key Developments in Military Cooperation

During this visit, General Al Mazrouei took part in the third session of the Morocco-UAE Joint Military Commission, which convened on October 5 and 6, 2026. The meeting also coincided with the International Aerospace and Space Exhibition, "Marrakech Air Show 2026," scheduled for October 7 to 10, 2026, as stated in a release from the General Staff of the FAR.

Both military leaders expressed their satisfaction with the current level of military cooperation between Morocco and the UAE, highlighting key areas such as capacity development, defense industry collaboration, training initiatives, and the exchange of expertise. They reiterated their commitment to further strengthen and develop this vital partnership.

Following their discussions, General Berrid and General Al Mazrouei co-chaired the closing session of the third meeting of the Morocco-UAE Joint Military Commission, which yielded a highly positive assessment covering a broad range of activities across several strategic domains. In recognition of his significant contributions to enhancing military cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the UAE, Inspector General Berrid awarded General Al Mazrouei the "Grand Cordon of the Order of Military Merit," bestowed by His Majesty the King.

The military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the UAE Armed Forces is rooted in a shared vision and reflects a long-standing dynamic that began in 1980 with the signing of the first military agreement. This partnership was further solidified with the establishment of a framework agreement in May 2006, showcasing the enduring commitment of both nations to collaborate on defense and security matters.
