Strengthening Public Security: New Appointments by Morocco's National Police

Enhancing Public Safety Through Strategic Appointments

The General Directorate of National Security in Morocco has announced a significant initiative aimed at bolstering public safety and improving the effectiveness of security management. This move involves a series of new appointments to key positions within the decentralized branches of the national police. These appointments are part of a broader strategy led by Director General Abdellatif Hammouchi, which focuses on renewing the framework and implementing modern security strategies to ensure the best service for citizens.

The newly appointed officials will take on their roles in various cities, including Berrechid, Bir Jdid, El Jadida, Imintanout, Casablanca, Oujda, Safi, Youssoufia, Meknes, and Marrakech. This decision aims to strengthen internal security across these vital areas. Among the notable appointments is the designation of a deputy head for the provincial public information service in Meknes, as well as a head for the public information team in Berrechid.

In a bid to reinforce public safety, six security officials have been appointed to lead police precincts in Marrakech, Imintanout, El Jadida, Safi, Youssoufia, and Meknes. Notably, a female candidate has been entrusted with the responsibility of a police precinct in El Jadida, reflecting the General Directorate's commitment to enhancing women's representation in security positions.

The reshuffle extends beyond these roles, including the appointment of three heads for traffic accident services in Oujda, Meknes, and Casablanca, along with the designation of two heads for specialized road traffic teams in Bir Jdid and Marrakech. The General Directorate of National Security emphasized that these appointments were based on precise criteria aimed at selecting young, competent, and honest professionals who possess the necessary experience to align with the aspirations of the new security strategy.

Moreover, this initiative seeks to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of security work while ensuring a sense of safety and reassurance among citizens. These appointments are part of the implementation of national security strategies designed to improve police services and enhance the openness of security services to their surrounding environments. The General Directorate aims to further strengthen the role of the police in internal security and elevate the level of service delivery to citizens across all regions.
