Empowering Underprivileged Students with Essential Supplies

The Bayt Mal al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency, under the auspices of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, recently launched an initiative to distribute school bags and stationery to students from underprivileged backgrounds in various areas of Jerusalem and its suburbs. This initiative took place just ahead of the commencement of the 2026-2027 academic year, highlighting the agency's commitment to support education within the integrated program for 2027-2030.

In total, over 3,000 school bags filled with essential supplies were distributed, a project financially supported by the Fes municipality and the Moroccan Association for the Support of Construction in Palestine. The distribution began in the village of Nabi Samuel, located northwest of Jerusalem, before moving to the town of Silwan in the southern part of the Old City. Students from organizations such as the Siraj Al-Quds School, Al-Bustan Foundation, and the Youth Heritage Forum of Jerusalem were among the beneficiaries, alongside members of the Um Laison Ladies Association in Ras Al-Amoud and the Wadi Al-Joz Charity Association.

This initiative also extended to areas such as Al-Ram, Jab’a, Bab Al-Amud, the Old City, Al-Mazra’a, Al-Tur, Bab Al-Sahira, Beit Hanina, and the Shufat and Qalandia refugee camps, targeting students from both primary and secondary education levels who come from low-income families, orphans, and children with special needs. The program is particularly focused on schools that demonstrate the highest levels of need, ensuring that assistance reaches those who require it most.

The school bags provided contain a comprehensive set of essential supplies, which includes a sturdy backpack suitable for daily use, notebooks for Arabic, English, and drawing, as well as pens, coloring tools, and other necessary items for students. The Bayt Mal Agency emphasizes that education is a fundamental right and a vital pillar for building a better future, and they are dedicated to facilitating access to educational resources for all students in the region.
