The origins of this contentious case trace back to the partial municipal elections held in the rural community of Beni Frassen in 2025. During these elections, Ghazi Ajdiyou secured a seat in electoral district number 16 representing the Authenticity and Modernity Party, garnering 179 votes compared to just 11 votes for his competitor from the Independence Party and 19 votes for the candidate from the Democratic Left Federation. However, these electoral results were short-lived due to legal and administrative challenges initiated by rival candidates and political adversaries.
Ajdiyou's brief return to the municipal governance arena was marred by controversy, particularly due to his candidacy alongside his wife, which sparked considerable uproar within his family. The recent Supreme Court ruling has effectively returned the situation to square one, completely stripping Ajdiyou of the seat he had obtained and closing the chapter on his temporary political comeback.
