Significant Growth in Passenger Numbers at Mohammed V International Airport
Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport has reported a remarkable increase in passenger traffic, handling nearly 6.95 million travelers in the first seven months of 2026. This figure reflects a 9.7% rise compared to the 6.34 million passengers recorded during the same period last year, as stated by Morocco’s National Airports Office. The growth in international travel has been particularly noteworthy, accounting for approximately 90% of total traffic, with international passenger numbers climbing by 9.6% to reach 6.24 million. Meanwhile, domestic travel saw an even more substantial increase of 10.3%, totaling 711,775 passengers.
In July alone, the airport facilitated the travel of 1.2 million passengers, marking a 7.7% increase from 1.11 million in July 2025. Of this number, international travelers constituted 1.08 million, a 7.5% rise, while domestic traffic rose by 9.8%, reaching 112,646 passengers. The year-to-date growth at Mohammed V Airport slightly outpaced the national average, as airports across Morocco collectively managed 22.28 million passengers through July, reflecting an overall increase of 8.8% year-on-year.
In July, national traffic alone accounted for 3.45 million passengers, compared to 3.18 million during the same month the previous year, representing an 8.4% increase. These statistics underscore the robust recovery and growth of Morocco's aviation sector as it continues to attract both international and domestic travelers.
