Alkompis – News from Sweden: Morocco has delivered two Swedish men to Sweden on suspicion of their involvement in extensive drug trafficking operations. This transfer follows a new agreement between the Moroccan police and the Swedish police.
Younes Himar, the Deputy Head of the International Unit in the National Operations Department of the police, stated in a press release that several Swedes involved in serious crimes were handed over from Morocco in a short period. He added, "It is positive that two individuals we believe had a significant impact on drug-related crimes in the country can now be brought to trial," as reported by TT.
Suspicion of Drug Sales to Criminal Gangs
One of the men is 28 years old and is suspected of leading a wholesale drug trafficking network, believed to have sold drugs to criminal gangs in Sweden and other Nordic countries. The other individual, aged 42, held a leadership position in a criminal network that smuggled large quantities of cannabis into Sweden.
Authorities are expected to request the detention of both men pending further investigation after their transfer to Sweden. The handovers were part of a new agreement between the police in Morocco and Sweden, according to TT.
