Talisman Metals Initiates Drilling Campaign at Tirzzit

Talisman Metals is gearing up to commence a significant drilling campaign at its Tirzzit copper project, located approximately 225 kilometers east of Agadir. Scheduled to kick off in the first week of September, this ambitious program will encompass around 3,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling, which has been contracted to the Moroccan firm Geosond Maroc SARL. Spanning nearly six weeks, the primary goal of this drilling initiative is to enhance the understanding of the mineralization present at the site and to explore its potential extension beyond the already identified areas.

The upcoming drilling efforts will involve establishing new data points across the entire basal series that Talisman has previously identified in earlier campaigns, which have been detailed in several communications made since late May. A portion of the drilling program will also focus on extending the reach along the projected continuity of the mineralized horizon. This will not only test the extension of the existing mineralization but also clarify the geometry of the copper system. Initial results from laboratory analyses are anticipated at the end of the drilling campaign, with subsequent publications of results expected over several weeks as the collected samples are processed and analyzed by the company.

Project Overview and Historical Data

The Tirzzit project comprises a stratiform system of copper and silver embedded within sedimentary formations, covering a total area of 16.5 square kilometers across two mining permits. Talisman Metals announced the acquisition of this project on February 16, 2026, from a subsidiary fully owned by Aya Silver & Gold, which also holds a 4.7% stake in Talisman Metals. Both companies are currently completing the necessary formalities for the official transfer of licenses in accordance with the transfer agreement established in February.

The site’s potential is underpinned by various historical data collected by the Bureau de recherches et de participations minières (BRPM) between 1972 and 1976, which revealed intersections of 3.16% copper over 2.5 meters, as well as 0.60% copper over 11.4 meters. Talisman is concurrently reviewing the BRPM's historical reports and available geophysical data to inform the exploration planning set for the third quarter of 2026. This drilling campaign is pivotal for the company as it aims to obtain more current data to better assess the continuity and extent of the mineralization at Tirzzit before outlining the next steps for further exploration of the project.
