The 25th Edition of the Hassan II Tbourida Trophy Set to Showcase Moroccan Equestrian Heritage
The 25th edition of the Hassan II Tbourida Trophy is poised to take place in Rabat from June 15 to 21, as announced by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE). This prestigious event, which highlights Morocco's rich tradition of equestrian arts, will be held at the Dar Es Salam complex. The competition will bring together 24 teams, known as 'sorbas', from various regions across the country. Among these teams, 18 will be senior teams while six will represent the juniors, all of whom have successfully qualified through regional competitions.
The tournament will unfold in two phases. The qualifying rounds are scheduled from June 15 to 18, culminating in the finals on June 20 and 21. In this final showdown, the top ten senior teams and the five best junior teams will compete fiercely for the national title. This event is especially significant as Tbourida has been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2021, solidifying its status as one of Morocco's most emblematic traditions.
Throughout the week, spectators will have the opportunity to witness the impressive performances from various teams, showcasing their precision, synchronization, and equestrian skills. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of Moroccan culture, and best of all, access to the competition will be free for all attendees, allowing everyone to experience the beauty of this traditional equestrian art form.
