Despite the grim images of chaos from past crossings, which included numerous fatalities and the uncertainty that follows crossing the border, the young men remain undeterred. They abandoned school before their fifteenth birthday, and their desire to escape their current reality continues to drive them forward.
As they prepare for what they see as their only opportunity for a better life, the stories of others who have attempted the journey are not lost on them. However, the allure of a better future outweighs the risks involved. This risky endeavor reflects a broader trend among Moroccan youth, who are increasingly opting for migration as a means of escaping the socio-economic challenges they face at home.
