Significant Rise in Hotel Night Stays in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra
The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region has witnessed a remarkable surge in tourism activity, with registered hotel establishments recording a total of 1,032,000 overnight stays by the end of July 2026. This figure reflects an impressive 10% increase compared to the same timeframe last year, as reported by the Tourism Observatory. In July alone, the region's classified tourist accommodation establishments accounted for 170,000 overnight stays, marking a 3% rise on a year-over-year basis.
Moreover, the occupancy rate within the region's tourist accommodations averaged 54% during the first seven months of the current year, showcasing a 2-point improvement compared to the previous year. Notably, the occupancy rate for July alone peaked at 57%, indicating a strong performance in the hospitality sector.
On a national scale, the total volume of overnight stays in classified tourist accommodation establishments across Morocco reached nearly 25.9 million by the end of July 2026, reflecting an 8% increase from the same period last year. This growth trajectory has coincided with an enhancement in the overall occupancy rate across the country, which now stands at 56%, up by 1 percentage point from the prior year.
