Tragic Loss of Life in Safrou Car Accident
A devastating car accident occurred late Sunday night in the Douar Al-Amoud area of Ain Chkak, located in the Safrou province of Morocco, resulting in the tragic deaths of a father and his two children. The mother of the children, along with the driver of another vehicle involved in the collision, sustained serious injuries and were urgently transported to Hassan II University Hospital in Fez for medical treatment.
According to preliminary reports, the accident was triggered by a collision involving a vehicle carrying the family and two other light cars, one of which belonged to a car rental agency. Following the incident, the occupants of the rental car fled the scene to an unknown location. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of the father and his children on site.
The mother, who suffered critical injuries, was rushed to the intensive care unit at the university hospital in Fez, alongside the driver of the second vehicle involved in the accident. Local authorities, along with the Royal Gendarmerie and civil protection units, arrived at the scene to secure the area, provide assistance to the injured, and recover the victims.
The Royal Gendarmerie has initiated a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor to ascertain the circumstances and details surrounding the accident, as well as to determine legal responsibilities. Investigations are ongoing to identify the individuals who fled the scene of the collision.
