Tragic Loss: UAE Armed Forces Contractor Killed in Bahrain Attack

UAE Contractor Mourned Following Missile Attack in Bahrain

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a Moroccan civilian contractor who was serving alongside the UAE Armed Forces. This tragic incident occurred during what was described as a routine mission in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where the contractor was martyred due to an Iranian missile attack. In a statement released on the social media platform X, the ministry confirmed the loss and also reported that five personnel from the UAE Ministry of Defence sustained injuries as a result of the attack.

In addition to the contractor's death, Bahrain's military announced that a member of the UAE army was killed within its borders while aiding local forces in their defense against Iranian military actions. The statement further indicated that there were injuries among both UAE and Bahraini military personnel, although the exact number of those injured was not disclosed. This incident is part of a broader pattern, as Gulf forces have previously reported being targeted in Bahrain.

On March 6, Qatar reported that members of its naval forces were located in buildings that had been targeted by Iranian forces in Bahrain, fortunately escaping unharmed. Since the beginning of Iran's retaliatory strikes on February 28, the conflict has tragically resulted in at least 36 fatalities across the Gulf region, including 17 civilians. The ongoing tensions highlight the precarious security situation in the area and the risks faced by military personnel and contractors alike.
