Emirati Defense Companies Showcase Innovations at Marrakech Air Show
During the eighth edition of the Marrakech International Air Show, Emirati defense companies are seizing the opportunity to showcase the remarkable advancements in the UAE's military industry. Supported by the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Balance Council, the UAE national pavilion aims to highlight local innovation in delivering high-efficiency defense products and solutions that can compete with top global firms. The showcased technologies range from unmanned systems and communication solutions to cyber warfare and smart guidance systems.
The UAE pavilion features models of various military equipment produced by companies from this Gulf nation, including the “500-H” unmanned helicopter designed for challenging missions. This aircraft can operate continuously for over three hours while carrying a full load of 150 kilograms, alongside several reconnaissance and surveillance platforms.
In addition to displaying locally manufactured machine guns and sniper rifles, along with electronic warfare systems, the pavilion presents the “SKYSHIELD-TM” system produced by the Emirati EDGE Group. This system is one of the latest drone countermeasure technologies, functioning by jamming the entire spectrum of satellite navigation systems, with a jamming range extending up to ten kilometers, effectively misleading hostile drones.
Furthermore, EDGE Group showcases the “Border Shield” surveillance and border security system, which is an autonomous monitoring solution designed to provide a comprehensive information network aimed at enhancing security and protecting borders. This system is equipped with advanced scanning devices that utilize second, third, fourth, and fifth-generation technologies, in addition to GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NSA systems.
Sami Hussein Al-Marzouqi, the official spokesperson for ADNEC Group, which organizes the UAE pavilion at the exhibition, expressed the UAE's enthusiasm about participating in this year's Marrakech Air Show. He noted that the strong relationship between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco is reflected in the UAE's significant participation in exhibitions hosted by Morocco.
Al-Marzouqi further stated that the national pavilion includes numerous partners from the UAE, both from public and private sectors, led by the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Balance Council. Additionally, ADNEC Group, a subsidiary of the “Mudan” company, is responsible for organizing this pavilion and is also involved in numerous defense exhibitions across the UAE and globally.
Moreover, he highlighted the participation of national defense industry companies such as EDGE, Resource Industries, Multi-Level Group, and Generation Five, all of which contribute a wide array of technologies in aerial, space, artificial intelligence, and defense sectors. According to Al-Marzouqi, the presence of these companies at the Marrakech Air Show exemplifies the longstanding relationships between the UAE's defense industry and international partners.
Finally, Al-Marzouqi emphasized that participating in this exhibition also presents an opportunity to forge new commercial and investment prospects while exchanging expertise and knowledge with all partners involved.
