US Consulate Relocates to Casa Finance City in Casablanca

US Consulate Moves to a New Complex in Casablanca

The United States Consulate General in Casablanca is set to relocate to a new facility within Casa Finance City, as announced by the American mission in Morocco. This significant move encompasses all consulate operations, including the current office on Boulevard Moulay Youssef and the cultural center Dar America located in Gauthier. The final day of services for American citizens and visa operations at the existing location will be April 21, with services resuming at the new address starting April 28. Meanwhile, Dar America will close its doors in Gauthier on April 10 and will reopen at the new Casa Finance City location on May 5.

During this transitional period, emergency assistance for American citizens will remain available through the consulate's citizen services, while visa applicants are encouraged to utilize the official platform for any inquiries. The new complex is situated on Rue des Liserons, Pôle Urbain Casa Anfa (20036, Casablanca), and features a blend of contemporary American architecture infused with Moroccan influences. It also incorporates sustainable features such as solar energy systems and water-efficient landscaping.

US Ambassador Duke Buchan described this project as a "modern symbol of American diplomacy" and a testament to the enduring friendship between the two nations that has lasted for 250 years. Consul General Marissa Scott emphasized that this new site will enhance services and strengthen bilateral ties. This initiative represents an investment exceeding $300 million, creating hundreds of jobs and contributing up to $100 million to the Moroccan economy during its construction phase. The facility is also pursuing LEED certification.

As Morocco was the first country to recognize the United States in 1777, it is home to both the oldest and newest American diplomatic sites: the US Legation in Tangier and the new consulate in Casablanca.
