The United States Men's National Team (USMNT) recently confirmed its roster for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the tournament set to kick off in just 17 days. In the opening match of the host nation's group, the US will face Paraguay at the SoFi Stadium. This clash will take place at Soldier Field in Chicago and will be an opportunity for the four-time world champions to redeem themselves after disappointing performances in the last two World Cups, where they failed to progress beyond the group stage. Currently ranked 10th by FIFA, Germany is in Group E with Curaçao, Ecuador, and the Ivory Coast.
Historically, the USMNT and Germany have met 12 times across all competitions, with the US securing four victories and suffering eight defeats. Their most recent encounter occurred in October 2023, where goals from Ilkay Gündogan, Niclas Füllkrug, and Jamal Musiala led Germany to a 3:1 friendly win in Connecticut.
