Embarking on a Mission of Generosity
The 26th edition of the Valladolid-Morocco Solidarity Expedition is set to cover 11 stages and over 5,000 kilometers, all aimed at delivering essential medications, sports equipment, and educational materials to the Merzouga region. This charitable initiative, organized by the Automobile Club of Valladolid, sees collaboration from the local football club Pucela, which is contributing kits and play items. The expedition was officially announced this past Friday at a press conference held at Valladolid's City Hall, with support from the Tourism, Events, and City Brand Department, as well as CEOE Valladolid.
Leading the charge is Valladolid pilot Roberto Carranza, who will guide a team of 32 participants across 16 all-terrain vehicles. Accompanying them will be a mobile ICU unit, prepared to navigate through challenging terrains that include dunes, sandy rivers, oasis, and volcanic tracks, ensuring that all supplies reach the rural communities in need.
A Journey of Impact and Community
The expedition kicks off on March 16, as the team heads to Tarifa before boarding a ferry to Morocco, where they will spend their first night in Assilah. Over the course of seven days, the team will distribute critical medical supplies and sports equipment, returning to Spain on March 25. This initiative not only enhances the visibility of Valladolid on a global scale but also brings the colors of Pucela to rural Moroccan communities. The press conference featured prominent figures including council member Blanca Jiménez, Carlos Magdaleno, founder of the Ambuibérica Group and president of CEOE Valladolid, Jorge Santiago, Corporate Area Director of Real Valladolid, and Carlos Olmedo, the mobile ICU's emergency doctor.
