New Direct Route from Verona to Casablanca
As of June 21, 2026, the Verona Airport has officially inaugurated a new direct flight connection to Casablanca, Morocco, operated by Royal Air Maroc, the national airline of Morocco. This service will run three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, enhancing connectivity between the Italian Northeast and this key Moroccan hub.
This new route further solidifies Royal Air Maroc's presence in the Italian market, which remains the airline's second most significant market in Europe. With the introduction of this direct flight, Royal Air Maroc now serves a total of eight airports in Italy, including major cities such as Naples, Catania, Rome, Milan, Bologna, Turin, Venice, and Verona.
Strategic Connection for the Italian Northeast
The launch of the Verona-Casablanca route is strategically designed to cater to one of Italy's most vibrant economic and tourist regions, including Trentino-Alto Adige. This connection aims to meet the needs of the Moroccan and broader African communities in the area while also targeting business and leisure travelers. The rich economic fabric and international relationships of the Northeast make it a prime candidate for enhanced air travel options.
This new route not only strengthens travel links to Morocco but also addresses the rising interest among Italian travelers in exploring Moroccan destinations renowned for their cultural, scenic, and experiential diversity.
The flights will be operated using a Boeing 737-800, featuring 12 business class seats and 147 in economy. The flight schedule includes AT890 departing Casablanca at 13:10, arriving in Verona at 17:20, and AT891 leaving Verona at 18:20, reaching Casablanca at 20:30. This timetable is designed to facilitate both business and leisure travel efficiently.
Walid El Khassal, Royal Air Maroc's Regional Director for Italy, stated, "The launch of the Verona-Casablanca route enables us to be closer to passengers in the Northeastern region of Italy, a dynamic area with a strong international orientation and increasing demand for connections to Morocco and beyond." Camillo Bozzolo, Aviation Development Director for the SAVE Group, added that this new route is a significant step in the international development of Verona Airport, expanding access to a wide range of African destinations and catering to the mobility needs of local ethnic communities.
