Mohya himself has confirmed that he has been approached by the Moroccan football authorities. In an interview with kicker, he stated, "There has been contact, yes. But I cannot say much more about it. I have not made a decision yet and I am taking my time. Let’s see how things unfold." Despite his Moroccan roots, Mohya was born in Mettmann, North Rhine-Westphalia, and has grown up in Germany. He joined Borussia Mönchengladbach at the tender age of seven and has since accumulated valuable experience, having played a total of seven international matches for the German U16, U17, and U18 teams. Currently, he is competing with the German U18 squad for a chance to participate in the U19 European Championships scheduled for 2027.
