Severe Weather Forecast for Morocco
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a warning indicating the likelihood of thunder showers accompanied by hail and gusty winds across various regions of Morocco this Saturday. The forecast anticipates harsh weather conditions, including high temperatures and locally strong winds, persisting into Sunday.
According to the alert, thunder showers are expected to bring precipitation levels ranging from 30 to 40 millimeters, with hail and wind gusts occurring from 11 AM to 11 PM in regions such as Tinghir, Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, Zagora, and Taourirt. Residents in these areas should prepare for potential disruptions caused by the severe weather.
Furthermore, the meteorological agency has noted that temperatures will soar between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius in regions including Kenitra, Sidi Qasim, Sidi Slimane, and Khemisset over the weekend. This rise in temperature, coupled with the expected thunderstorms, could lead to increased discomfort for the population.
In addition, fierce winds are forecasted, reaching speeds of 75 to 85 kilometers per hour on Saturday and Sunday, particularly in the Tangier-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra regions. It is advisable for residents to exercise caution during these conditions to ensure their safety.
