New Visa Appointment Procedures in Morocco
As of October 1, 2026, TLScontact has implemented new appointment scheduling procedures for specific French visa applications at its centers located in Casablanca, Marrakech, and Agadir, Morocco. Depending on the category of the application, appointments are either automatically assigned by the platform or directly booked by the applicant from available time slots. In the cities of Casablanca and Agadir, automatic appointment assignment remains in place for six specific categories: first-time requests for tourism or private visits, their renewals under the ordinary visa categories of 'Visé' or 'Circulation', as well as first-time applications for family visits and their renewals in the same two categories. All other visa requests necessitate direct online reservations.
The Tunisian Dilemma: A Call for Change
This development raises a legitimate question in Tunisia, where the ongoing difficulties in securing appointments have long fueled frustration among applicants and have led to the emergence of practices that many travelers have condemned. These include intermediaries and certain agencies offering paid appointments at prices that can reach several hundred or even thousands of dinars. Why is there no similar system, tailored to the specificities of the Tunisian context? An automated appointment allocation for certain categories of applications could help reduce the potential for exploitation and reselling of slots while making the process more transparent. While this measure alone would not guarantee the prevention of abuses, it could represent a serious avenue for consideration. Given the persistent challenges faced by Tunisian applicants and the monetization practices reported to them, there is a pressing need for clarification on the measures being contemplated to enhance access to appointments, prevent abuses, and ensure fairness among applicants.
