Youth of Soualem Protests Decisions of Professional Football League Demanding Clarifications

Youth of Soualem Voices Discontent Over Professional Football League Decisions

The Administrative Board of the Youth of Soualem Sports Club has formally submitted a complaint and protest letter to Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. In this letter, the club calls for intervention to address what they consider a series of "actions taken by the National Professional Football League," responsible for managing club affairs at the local level. The club emphasized in an official statement that their decision to reach out to the federation came after multiple attempts to communicate with the Professional League for clarification on several unresolved issues. Unfortunately, they reported receiving no responses or clarifications regarding these matters.

Among the significant issues raised by the club is the grant allocated for establishing a sports company. The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, allocated a sum of 7 million dirhams to each club that transitioned to the sports company system. The Youth of Soualem was one of the first clubs to adopt this system in 2022. However, they reported receiving only 2 million dirhams, while other clubs received the full grant amount.

Additionally, the statement addressed delays in the disbursement of the third tranche of the television broadcast grant for the 2024/2025 season, which was expected to be 2 million dirhams. The club noted that they did not receive the amount until July 10, 2025, and the amount was significantly less than what was anticipated, totaling under 1.6 million dirhams. This occurred after the conclusion of the championship and following the team’s match against Olympique de Dcheira.

In a related matter, the club also pointed out that they have yet to benefit from the grant from the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council for 2025, which is valued at 15 million dirhams. This is despite confirmation from the granting authority that the amount had been transferred to the National Professional Football League before the end of that year.

Moreover, the letter raised concerns regarding the qualification of players contracted during the winter transfer period of 2026. The Professional League refused to register these players citing financial disputes amounting to 4.9 million dirhams. The club proposed that this amount be deducted from their dues to the league, but they have yet to receive any response to this proposal.
