Zaytouna FC Embarks on a New Chapter with Enthusiasm and Vision

In a vibrant atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and optimism, the club formerly known as Ittifaq de Marrakech has officially rebranded as Zaytouna FC. The organization held its ordinary general assembly for the 2025-2026 season, marking the beginning of an exciting new phase in its journey. This transition coincides with the team's preparations for the upcoming season, where they will compete in the National Amateur Division 1 (DNA 1).

Out of the 19 members of the club, 16 were present at the assembly, confirming the legal quorum and enabling the meeting to proceed as planned. During the gathering, the newly appointed president, Youssef Aarab, laid out the key points of his vision and the accompanying ambitions for this new chapter. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the former president, Saïd Cheraâ, for his dedication and sacrifices made for the betterment of the club and its continuity.

Following the president's address, the assembly reviewed and adopted the moral report before moving on to examine the financial report covering the period from July 1, 2025, to August 10, 2026. This financial overview revealed revenues amounting to 3,204,809 dirhams, with expenditures matching that figure. Additionally, the club's debts totaled 867,959 dirhams. A particularly notable aspect of the financial situation highlighted was that the advances provided by the president constituted nearly the entire source of funding for the club during this period. This financial commitment was crucial in ensuring the team could function effectively and meet its various obligations.

A Vision for the Future

After thorough discussions, both the moral and financial reports received approval from the assembly, which also took note of the club's action plan for the 2026-2027 season. This new chapter revolves around three significant changes: a new president, a new board, and a new name. The transition from Ittifaq de Marrakech to Zaytouna FC transcends mere administrative changes; it occurs within a unique context and carries a strong symbolism of a new identity and a desire to turn a new page in the club's history.

The newly formed board is now focused on gradually building a team that can establish itself within the national football landscape. Although the journey is long, participation in the DNA 1 represents a critical milestone and an opportunity to solidify the club's foundation while fostering new ambitions. This vision extends beyond Zaytouna FC alone; it encompasses a long-term dream of seeing two Marrakchi clubs compete at the professional elite level.

Marrakech, with its rich history, influence, sports potential, and passionate fanbase, possesses substantial assets to aspire for a more significant presence in the national football arena. The proliferation of structured sports projects will only enhance the local landscape, providing more opportunities for the city's budding talents.

As Zaytouna FC embarks on this journey, the challenge will be to convert this newfound dynamic into a sustainable sports project rooted in hard work, stability, training, and measured progression. Each step is vital, and the upcoming season will be the first true test of their competitive spirit.

To conclude the assembly, a motion of loyalty and allegiance was expressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, as a sign of commitment to the nation's constants and the glorious Alaouite Throne. With a new name, a new leadership team, and a renewed ambition, Zaytouna FC is possibly on the brink of a new chapter in Marrakchi football.
