Morocco's Airports See 8.7% Increase in Passenger Traffic, Surpassing 29 Million in 2026

Moroccan Airports Experience Significant Growth

In an impressive display of growth, Morocco's airports have handled a remarkable 29.33 million passengers during the first nine months of 2026, reflecting an increase of 8.74% compared to the same timeframe last year, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA). This surge highlights the ongoing recovery and expansion of the aviation sector in Morocco, showcasing its vital role in connecting the country to the world.

The international passenger traffic was particularly noteworthy, rising by 8.73% to reach 26.15 million, while domestic travel also saw a healthy increase of 8.88%, totaling 3.18 million passengers. This uptick in travel indicates a growing confidence among travelers and a robust demand for air travel services, contributing significantly to the national economy.

Among Morocco's airports, Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca continues to dominate as the busiest hub, accommodating 9.35 million passengers. Following closely are Marrakech-Menara Airport with 8.11 million, Agadir Airport with 2.79 million, Tangier Airport with 2.32 million, and Rabat-Salé Airport with 1.90 million passengers. This distribution illustrates the geographic diversity of travel within Morocco, with major cities attracting significant air traffic.

Moreover, Europe remains the largest international market for Moroccan airports, contributing to 21.66 million passengers, which is an increase of 9.05%. Notably, traffic from South America has surged by an astonishing 33.48%, while North America and Africa also reported substantial growth rates of 13.23% and 13.62%, respectively. This trend underscores Morocco's growing appeal as a travel destination and a significant player in the global aviation landscape.
