Ryanair's CEO Eddie Wilson Strengthens Partnership in Rabat, Morocco

Ryanair Expands Its Operations in Morocco

On October 27, 2026, Eddie Wilson, the Chief Executive Officer of Ryanair, made a significant visit to Rabat, Morocco, to formalize a strategic partnership with the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT). This collaboration is set to bolster Ryanair's winter operations in Morocco, marking the airline's largest seasonal schedule to date, with an impressive allocation of 5.3 million seats across 156 routes. This expansion represents a 12% increase in capacity compared to the previous winter season, showcasing Ryanair's commitment to enhancing travel connectivity between Morocco and Europe.

Record Winter Schedule and New Routes

The winter schedule includes 156 routes connecting Morocco to 14 European countries, serving 13 Moroccan airports. Notably, this season introduces 17 new routes, strategically designed to enhance accessibility to popular destinations. Among the new connections are direct flights from Rabat to Stockholm, Marrakech to Wrocław, and Agadir to Milan. These additional routes commenced operations as early as the preceding Monday, significantly increasing options for travelers departing from Rabat, Agadir, and Marrakech.

Moreover, Ryanair established its fifth base in Morocco at Rabat in April, which includes two aircraft based at this location and an investment of $200 million in infrastructure. This base facilitates seven routes to Europe and will now include newly added connections to Stockholm-Arlanda and Krakow, tapping into northern and eastern European markets. With a cumulative investment of $1.6 billion and a fleet of 16 aircraft operating within the Kingdom, Ryanair has also created over 8,500 local jobs, underscoring its positive impact on the Moroccan economy.

The expansion not only focuses on key tourist hubs but also enhances services to regions such as Fez, Tetouan, Essaouira, Ouarzazate, Dakhla, and Nador, promoting a more balanced development of Morocco’s tourism infrastructure. During his visit, Wilson highlighted Ryanair's investments in technologies aimed at expediting passenger processing at airports, which will further streamline travel experiences.

Wilson asserted that Ryanair enjoys a robust partnership with Morocco and emphasized the airline’s ongoing investments in the region. This alliance is indicative of Morocco's strategic approach to developing its air transport capabilities, attracting new customer segments, and strengthening its presence in European markets.
