The Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs has officially announced that the month of Rabie-I 1448 in the Hijri calendar will commence on Friday, August 14, 2026, with the celebration of Aïd Al Mawlid Annabaoui scheduled for Tuesday, August 25. This declaration follows the confirmation of the lunar crescent sighting for Rabie-I 1448, which took place on the evening of Thursday, Safar 29, 1448, corresponding to August 13, 2026.
According to the ministry's statement, the month of Safar will consist of 29 days, leading to the start of Rabie-I on the 14th of August. On this significant occasion, Muslims around the world will commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), an event marked by various religious observances, community gatherings, and cultural festivities.
