Airport Weeze Anticipates Growth with Exciting Summer 2026 Flight Schedule

Exciting Destinations for Summer 2026 from Airport Weeze

As summer approaches, Airport Weeze is brimming with optimism for continued growth, following impressive results from the previous year. The airport has announced a diverse range of 42 destinations available for travelers in the upcoming summer season, solidifying its status as a popular hub for vacationers. With Mallorca once again topping the list as the most sought-after flight destination from Weeze, travelers can expect 502 flights to the beloved Spanish island. Other popular routes include Girona with 359 departures, Malaga offering 316 flights, and Alicante with 313, according to the latest updates from airport officials.

The positive trajectory that the airport experienced last year is expected to persist, with projections indicating an increase in passenger numbers. The summer flight schedule for 2026, running from March 29 to October 24, plans for a remarkable total of over 10,000 departures and arrivals, representing an estimated growth of approximately 8.6 percent compared to the previous year's summer schedule.

Growing Passenger Numbers and New Destinations

Forecasts suggest that around 1.65 million travelers will utilize Airport Weeze this summer, marking an increase of about 130,000 compared to 2025. The airport continues to cater to the classic vacation regions in Spain, Greece, Croatia, and North Africa, with new additions such as Pula on the Istrian Peninsula and Trapani in Sicily. However, some previously served destinations, including Asturias, Bucharest, Seville, and Zakynthos, will no longer be available.

“The summer flight schedule for 2026 indicates that the demand for vacation flights from Weeze continues to grow,” stated Sebastian Papst, Managing Director of Airport Weeze. “The traditional holiday destinations around the Mediterranean remain highly sought after by our passengers. With the expanded offerings and additional tourist connections, we are able to provide travelers from the German-Dutch border region with attractive direct flights.”

New to the travel offerings this August and September are two weekly flights to Antalya, operated by Freebird Airlines on behalf of the TUI Group, making them available through various tour operators. This addition complements the existing vacation offerings from the Niederrhein region.

“With the expanded summer flight schedule, Airport Weeze reaffirms its role as an important holiday airport for the German-Dutch border region,” officials commented, highlighting the airport's commitment to serving travelers efficiently and effectively.
