Czech President's Quick Trip to Prague for Elections

Czech Republic's President, Petr Pavel, made a significant journey from Casablanca, Morocco, to Prague on Friday, arriving just in time to participate in the crucial Senate and municipal elections. Accompanied by a dedicated security team, Pavel traveled aboard a chartered private jet, demonstrating the importance of his role in the electoral process. Following his brief but essential visit to Prague, he returned to Casablanca, highlighting the lengths to which he goes to fulfill his presidential duties.

According to data from Flightradar24, the flight designated as SAW2982, which linked Prague to Casablanca, was operated by a private Hawker 900XP aircraft bearing the registration CN-RBS. This jet is owned by Sarah Airways, a Moroccan airline specializing in business aviation and based in Casablanca. The estimated cost of chartering this aircraft is remarkable, ranging between 30,000 to 45,000 euros, which translates to approximately 750,000 to 1.13 million crowns, underscoring the financial commitment involved in such a trip.

Pavel's journey commenced early Friday morning, departing Casablanca at 7:56 AM and landing in Prague at 1:45 PM. The voting for the Senate and local elections commenced on Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and continued on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with an important second round of Senate elections scheduled for the following week. This strategic timing indicates the urgency and significance of his return, as he engages directly with the democratic process in his country.
