Resumption of Direct Flights Between Morocco and Israel

According to reports from Israeli Channel 12, direct flights have officially resumed between Israel and Marrakech following a pause that lasted nearly three years. This significant development, which commenced last Wednesday, marks a pivotal moment in the reestablishment of air travel between the two nations.

Israeli airline Arkia had announced its intention to restart direct flights between Tel Aviv and Marrakech starting on August 24, 2026, a much-anticipated move after the suspension that began in 2023. The airline plans to operate two flights weekly on this route, scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays, utilizing Airbus A320 aircraft to ensure comfortable and efficient travel for passengers.

The Marrakech route was among those suspended due to escalating security concerns in the region that arose in October 2023, which led to the halting of direct flights between this popular Moroccan destination and Israel.

This resumption of flights not only facilitates tourism and business but also symbolizes a renewed commitment to strengthening ties and cooperation between Morocco and Israel. As travel restrictions loosen, it is expected that both countries will see an increase in visitors, fostering cultural exchanges and economic opportunities.
