Key Government Initiatives Presented in Taounate
Fatima Zahra Amour, a prominent member of the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents, recently showcased the government's achievements and major projects implemented during the current term in a communication meeting with the residents of Ba Mohammed village in the Taounate region. This event, held on a Tuesday evening, served as a platform for discussing the various initiatives undertaken by the government despite the challenging circumstances posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, drought, and a myriad of issues affecting diverse sectors.
Amour emphasized that the government has successfully launched several important projects, which include direct social support, universal health coverage, increased wages, and enhancements to the minimum wage. Additionally, she highlighted the government's focus on the health and education sectors, as well as initiatives aimed at boosting investment. One of the critical reforms discussed was the new investment charter, which has played a significant role in supporting productive sectors. She also provided insights into the tourism sector's performance, projecting that Morocco would welcome 20 million tourists by 2025, creating approximately 92,000 direct jobs in the sector, based on data presented during the meeting.
Regarding the Fes-Meknes region, Amour noted that the area has benefited from the dynamic growth of the tourism sector. She indicated the establishment of new accommodation projects, although she acknowledged a gap in recreational facilities that affects tourists' length of stay. In this context, she referred to the 'Go Siyaha' program, which has financed and supported 220 projects in the recreational tourism sector across various regions within Fes-Meknes. Amour asserted that these initiatives would contribute to extending tourists' stay and generating new job opportunities.
Furthermore, Amour introduced several components of the program proposed by the National Rally of Independents for the upcoming phase, which includes three commitments and twelve measures aimed at protecting purchasing power, ensuring the quality of public services, and enhancing economic inclusion. In terms of employment, she discussed the ambitious goal of creating one million jobs by 2030 and reducing the unemployment rate to 9 percent. Moreover, she proposed increasing the value of the 'return-to-work grant' to four times the minimum wage and extending the duration of eligibility from six months to twelve months. Additionally, she addressed the situation of seasonal workers, proposing the establishment of a special card for this group that would enable them to benefit from various social rights, including retirement and health coverage, as well as priority in returning to work.

In a related discussion, Nabila Rmili, another member of the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents, focused on the party's experiences and political choices since 2021. She stated that the essence of party work relies on active field presence and direct communication with citizens, linking their demands and expectations to public programs and policies. Rmili shared her journey within the party, which began at the age of 26, proudly identifying herself as part of a generation that 'was made in the party and will stay in the party,' reflecting her deep-rooted commitment to its values and objectives.
She characterized the party's program for 2021 as being built on what she termed 'political audacity,' especially in relation to establishing a social state and achieving equal opportunities. Rmili highlighted several measures that impact the education and health sectors. In education, she pointed out the increase in salaries for teachers and the expansion of school support, along with the launch of 'entrepreneurship schools,' while asserting that education reform remains an ongoing challenge. In health care, she noted that the reform of the health system requires time and that the government has laid down several legal and institutional foundations for this reform, including the establishment of territorial health groups.
Moreover, Rmili discussed the proposal of 'third-party payment' aimed at reducing the treatment costs for citizens by lowering the amount payable directly at the time of receiving treatment. She also mentioned the 'unified digital medical file' project, which, according to her vision, would compile citizens' health data and facilitate access to it across various health institutions. Throughout the meeting, Rmili emphasized the grassroots character of the National Rally of Independents, asserting that the party comprises talents from various fields and calling for continued communication with citizens to raise awareness of the party's programs and proposals.
