Lasobio Launches State-of-the-Art Production Facility

The Moroccan laboratory Lasobio, a subsidiary of the Promamec group, officially inaugurated a new industrial unit in Casablanca on September 8, dedicated to the production of dietary supplements, cosmetics, and functional beverages. This ambitious project represents an investment of 100 million dirhams, aimed at enhancing the company's capacity to serve both the local market and its international aspirations. With over 45 years of industry experience, Lasobio is committed to making wellness accessible to a broader audience without compromising on quality.

Spanning a technical area of 2,500 square meters, the new facility is designed to manufacture seven different pharmaceutical forms, with a total production capacity of up to 3 million units per form. Equipped in compliance with pharmaceutical standards, the facility focuses on three core pillars: product quality, traceability of raw materials, and genuine benefits to consumers, utilizing ingredients whose efficacy is supported by clinical studies. "Wellness is not a privilege; it is a right," stated Hatim El Kabbaj, General Director of Lasobio, emphasizing the company's commitment to consumer health. The factory also incorporates a plant extraction method aimed at enhancing the value of Moroccan therapeutic plants and a molecular transformation process that enables the production of previously unavailable forms in Morocco, such as functional beverages and serums.

Strategic Partnerships and Future Aspirations

In addition to producing its own brands, Lasobio aims to leverage its industrial capabilities to assist professionals looking to develop their projects. This strategy positions the laboratory as a key partner in a market where consumers increasingly scrutinize the origins of ingredients and the scientific validity of the claimed benefits. Ismail Guezzar, Business Development Director, asserted, "Producing in Morocco does not entail compromising on quality standards." From an employment perspective, the site is expected to employ around 60 individuals in its initial phase, with projections to exceed 150 direct jobs and nearly 500 indirect jobs by 2030, particularly in agriculture, logistics, and distribution, while prioritizing national competencies, youth, and women.

The company’s international ambitions are already underway. Lasobio is preparing for a European rollout through its German brand H3R LAB, which is set to be distributed across more than 1,000 retail locations in Germany starting January 2027. Following this, the company plans to launch exports to the United Kingdom in the same year, notably partnering with British firm Goodrays. Hatim El Kabbaj remarked, "This investment is not a turning point; it is a realization of our vision." Ultimately, Lasobio harbors even broader ambitions to become a major player in the pharmaceutical industry.
