Marrakech-Safi Region Sees Significant Growth in Business Creation
The Marrakech-Safi region has witnessed a remarkable surge in entrepreneurial activity in 2024, as reported by the Moroccan observatory for small and medium-sized enterprises (TPME). According to the regional report for 2026, the establishment of new companies has significantly increased, alongside a consistent rise in both turnover and added value. This vibrant economic activity is predominantly concentrated in the prefecture of Marrakech, which continues to play a pivotal role in the region's economic landscape.
By the end of 2024, the region boasted 40,606 active legal entities, solidifying its position as one of Morocco's key entrepreneurial hubs. The Marrakech-Safi region accounts for 10.7% of the national fabric of active enterprises, indicating its vital role in the broader economic context of the country. The increase in business registrations not only showcases the entrepreneurial spirit of the local population but also reflects the supportive measures implemented to foster a conducive environment for business operations.
Moreover, the creation of 8,485 new enterprises in 2024 has led to the declaration of 346,152 jobs, thereby contributing significantly to employment in the area. This influx of new businesses is expected to stimulate further economic growth and diversification, as well as improve the overall employment landscape in Marrakech-Safi.
