Marrakech Gears Up for Gitex Africa 2026
The vibrant city of Marrakech is on the verge of hosting the fourth edition of the Gitex Africa Morocco exhibition, set to take place in April 2026. This prestigious technology event is poised to attract a diverse array of startups, technology experts, and investors from around the globe, creating a dynamic environment for innovation and collaboration.
Supporting Startups with Morocco 300 Initiative
Among the significant initiatives highlighted for this year's exhibition is the launch of the Morocco 300 program. This initiative, managed by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform in collaboration with the Digital Development Agency, aims to provide support for 300 startups, offering financial assistance that can cover up to 95% of their needs. This is a notable increase from previous editions, which only supported 200 companies, thereby reflecting a strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in Morocco.
This year, Gitex Africa is expected to host around 1,000 startups from various countries, all presenting their innovative projects to international investors in hopes of securing funding and expanding their businesses. A highlight of the event will be the Supernova competition, a vital platform designed to promote innovation among startups.
The exhibition will be structured around three main themes. The first will concentrate on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, featuring dedicated spaces where the latest digital solutions and data protection technologies will be showcased. The second theme will focus on cloud computing and data centers, which are essential components of the ongoing digital transformation across Africa. Finally, the third theme will spotlight specialized technology sectors, introducing a new focus on smart mobility under the Future Mobility initiative. Here, international companies will demonstrate innovations in electric and hybrid vehicles, along with technologies aimed at improving transport management and urban mobility.
This edition of Gitex Africa will also unveil new programs such as Future of Work (FLEX) and EduTech, designed to explore the ongoing transformations in the realms of work and education in our increasingly digital world. Additionally, a specific platform will be created for small and medium-sized technology enterprises (Tech SMEs) to facilitate their digital transformation and help them access international markets.
