Major Infrastructure Development for Moroccan Railways
The National Office of Railways (ONCF) is gearing up to initiate a significant civil engineering project aimed at constructing and extending underground passages and access points at its railway stations. This ambitious undertaking, which is overseen by the ONCF's High-Speed Rail Projects Department, will impact approximately fifteen stations along the Kenitra-Marrakech rail line. To execute this extensive project, ONCF is seeking the expertise of external contractors who specialize in the construction of complex infrastructural works.
This infrastructure project is divided into two main geographical lots. The first lot focuses on the area between Mohammedia and Nouaceur, encompassing ten stations: Mohammedia Facultés, Mohammedia Ville, Sidi Bernoussi, Aïn Sebaâ, Hay Mohammadi, Mers Sultan, Zenata Industrielle, Sidi Maârouf, Bouskoura, and Nouaceur. The second lot is centered around Marrakech and includes five stations: Benguerir, Ville Verte RER, Sidi Bouatman, Gare Stade Marrakech, and Sidi Ghanem.
The projected cost for this operation, as defined by the project management, reflects the scale of ambition behind it: approximately 50.2 million dirhams for the first lot and around 30 million for the second, totaling an estimated budget of nearly 80 million dirhams for the entire project. According to technical documents reviewed by TelQuel, ONCF is in search of firms capable of constructing these reinforced concrete structures in close proximity to active railway lines, ensuring that train operations remain uninterrupted throughout the construction phase.
