Moroccan Agricultural Products Competition Announces Winners of Its Seventh Edition

Celebrating Excellence in Moroccan Agricultural Products

The seventh edition of the "Moroccan Agricultural Products Competition" has once again highlighted the richness and diversity of Moroccan products. This prestigious event took place on Saturday at the Meknes Agricultural Forum and was organized by the Agricultural Development Agency, reflecting the continuous support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to producer groups, as well as its commitment to enhancing the value of their products.

The awards ceremony was marked by an impressive distribution of 455 medals, which included 134 gold, 141 silver, and 180 bronze medals. This formal event coincided with the 18th edition of the International Agricultural Forum in Morocco (SIAM), presided over by Ahmed Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, along with officials from the Agricultural Development Agency.

A special innovation award was presented to the "Amine" cooperative from the Marrakech-Safi region for their "Argan Oil with Organic Saffron," recognizing their innovative approach to product development. This initiative not only acknowledges the efforts of producer groups but also showcases their expertise to the public through awards that underscore the quality and authenticity of their products.

Recognizing the Best of the Best

During the event, Hajiba Chakil, the Director of Local Product Marketing Development at the Agricultural Development Agency, announced that this edition featured participation from 1,375 products sourced from various regions of the kingdom. Following deliberations by the judging committee, seven excellence awards were granted, recognizing products such as argan oil from the "Boukhdo Akrmod" cooperative, olive oil from the "Ageriswak" cooperative, and honey from the "Agdez" cooperative, among others. These awards reflect the richness of the national agricultural heritage.

Launched in 2014 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, the Moroccan Agricultural Products Competition has become an essential mechanism for promoting local products. Its influence extends to enhancing the competitiveness of producers, supporting cooperatives, and promoting a product line capable of meeting both national and international market demands.

In interviews with Hespress, the award-winning exhibitors expressed that this recognition is more than just awards; it serves as a motivation to continue innovating and valuing the national agricultural heritage. Fatima Zahra Amini, president of the "Amine" cooperative, expressed her pride in receiving the innovation award for their argan oil with saffron, stating that this accolade provides significant encouragement for the thirty women cooperative members in Essaouira to balance tradition with product development.

Mohamed Skourai, president of the "Ageriswak" cooperative, emphasized that their quality olive oil award is a result of diligent work and full compliance with legal standards. Fatima Marzouq, from the Fes-Meknes region, remarked that winning the gold medal in vinegar categories represents a substantial honor and recognition of hard work, infusing producers with motivation for ongoing efforts in product development.

In conclusion, this event has not only celebrated the achievements of Moroccan agricultural products but also reinforced the commitment to quality and innovation, which is crucial for the future success of the sector.
