On August 20, 2026, Morocco Strategic Minerals Corporation (TSXV: MCC) announced significant findings from its ongoing exploration efforts in the Western High Atlas District of Morocco. The company has conducted systematic channel sampling both underground and at the surface of its Ouneine site, alongside selected samples from the Tanfit and Ijoukak areas, advancing the definition of drill targets across this promising mineral-rich region.
The highlights from these sampling activities are impressive, particularly from Ouneine underground Gallery A, where 77 channel samples were meticulously collected from 15 sections. Remarkably, eight of these sections yielded copper grades exceeding 1.0%, with standout results including 5.74% Cu and 39 g/t Ag over a length of 2.1 metres, and an astonishing peak of 13.18% Cu and 88 g/t Ag over a narrower interval of 0.9 metres. Surface channel sampling at Ouneine also demonstrated strong potential with 34 samples collected from 13 channels, where six channels returned grades above 1.0% Cu, including 1.55% Cu and 199 g/t Ag over 2.0 metres.
The exploration at Tanfit revealed that five of six underground grab samples from Gallery 17 showed copper concentrations exceeding 2.0%, with one sample showing a remarkable 7.76% Cu and 42 g/t Ag. Historical stockpile samples from this site also exhibited high-grade copper values, including 23.60% Cu and 40 g/t Ag. Similarly, at Ijoukak, the results were equally encouraging, with 15 of 16 samples from historical workings returning values greater than 1.0% Cu, with notable highs of 27.68% Cu. These findings are essential as they are being integrated with geological and structural mapping to prioritize drill targets in the Western High Atlas District.
The integration of results from Ouneine, Tanfit, and Ijoukak is pivotal in refining the Company’s geological models and advancing the planning for future drilling campaigns. The systematic approach to sampling, alongside three-dimensional geological interpretations, will allow Morocco Strategic Minerals to better define the orientation and potential continuity of the mineralized zones identified. Pierre-Olivier Goulet, President and CEO of the company, expressed optimism about the progress made in defining drill targets, emphasizing the exciting potential that these high-grade mineralized structures present. The Company is poised to initiate drilling operations as soon as practical, contingent on technical validation and regulatory approvals.
