Revolutionizing the Driving Test Process in Morocco
The National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) of Morocco is implementing cutting-edge technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and advanced surveillance systems, to overhaul its driving license examination system. This initiative aims to boost transparency, ensure equal opportunities for all candidates, and significantly reduce any inappropriate human intervention during the evaluation process. This move comes on the heels of recent events in Spain, where a sophisticated organization was dismantled for using smart glasses to cheat during driving tests.
In Morocco, there is a clear trend towards the digitalization of examination centers, encompassing both theoretical and practical assessments. This modernization will involve real-time tracking, recording, and monitoring of every stage of the test, thereby enhancing the integrity of the evaluation process. Intelligent tools will also be utilized to analyze candidates' performance and behavior, which will contribute to a higher credibility of the results and minimize potential irregularities.
As part of the ongoing reforms, the Ministry of Transportation and Logistics is making strides in simplifying and digitalizing administrative procedures. NARSA has developed and codified forty-nine specific procedures, of which forty-seven have already been published on the national portal "Idarati" (My Administration). This digital initiative reflects a commitment to streamline processes and improve the overall experience for candidates.
Furthermore, the modernization efforts continue with the widespread installation of cameras in examination centers and the launch of innovative projects such as the smart vehicle initiative in collaboration with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. These advancements include the adoption of state-of-the-art radar systems, which will further enhance the efficacy and reliability of the driving test systems.
