Moroccan Stocks Rise as Key Sectors Perform Well

On Friday, the Moroccan stock market experienced a positive closing session, with the Moroccan All Shares index climbing by 0.35%. This upward trend was primarily driven by significant gains in the Banking, Beverage, and Transport sectors, demonstrating the resilience and potential of these industries in the current economic climate. The Casablanca Stock Exchange showcased a healthy trading environment, as the number of rising stocks outnumbered those that declined, with 31 stocks advancing against 22 that fell, while 8 stocks remained unchanged.

Among the top performers was Auto Hall (CSE:ATH), which saw a remarkable increase of 4.41%, translating to an addition of 3.00 points, closing at 71.00. Lesieur Cristal (CSE:LES) followed closely, gaining 3.28% or 11.90 points to finish at 374.90. Another notable mention was Societe des Boissons du Maroc SA (CSE:SBM), which rose by 2.98%, amounting to 68.00 points, closing at 2,348.00. These companies are indicative of the robust growth potential within the Moroccan market, particularly in sectors that are essential to consumer demand.

Conversely, the session did see some underperformers, notably Involys (CSE:INV), which dropped by 3.62% or 5.40 points to end at 143.60. Wafa Assurance (CSE:WAA) also faced a decline of 2.56%, resulting in a closing price of 5,700.00, while Total Maroc SA (CSE:TMA) decreased by 2.38%, down to 1,562.00. Despite these losses, the overall sentiment on the exchange remained positive.

In commodities, crude oil prices saw an increase, with July delivery rising by 1.44% to reach $97.74 per barrel. Brent oil for the same month also saw a notable gain of 1.63%, hitting $104.25 per barrel. Meanwhile, gold futures for June experienced a slight dip of 0.67%, trading at $4,511.95 per troy ounce. Currency exchange rates reflected a stable environment, with the EUR/MAD decreasing by 0.24% to 10.70, while the USD/MAD remained unchanged at 9.22. The US Dollar Index Futures also showed a modest increase of 0.16%, closing at 99.26.
