Nabila Rmili Officially Declares Candidacy

The President of the Casablanca City Council, Nabila Rmili, officially announced her candidacy as the head of the regional list for the National Rally of Independents (RNI) in the Casablanca-Settat region, ahead of the elections scheduled for September 23. Rmili expressed her commitment to balance this electoral engagement with her ongoing responsibilities as the city's leader.

After more than a year of consistent presence on social media regarding her management of Casablanca, Rmili has opted to transparently communicate the evolution of her message in the coming weeks. "I have always ensured that my communication is sincere, useful, and respectful," she stated, noting that she had chosen not to discuss her actions as the mayor in recent weeks. This decision aligns with the principles that have guided her presence on social media.

Future Communication Plans

In this context, Rmili revealed her official candidacy for the RNI, stating, "I have officially submitted my candidacy as the head of the regional list for the National Rally of Independents in the Casablanca-Settat region." She outlined her forthcoming communication strategy, indicating that until the official campaign launch, the content shared will focus on political issues and programs. Once the campaign commences, she plans to share significant moments from this new experience, leading up to the elections on September 23. After this period, she assures her followers that she will return to her usual communication style, emphasizing her commitment and responsibilities in local governance.

Recognizing that her regional candidacy might be perceived as a detachment from her municipal duties, Rmili reassured constituents, saying, "I am not leaving Casablanca." She elaborated that her new candidacy aims to represent the challenges, expectations, and interests of Casablanca in Parliament, thus enabling her to continue advocating for the city at a different level.

Rmili frames her candidacy as part of her longstanding political activism. "This candidacy is a continuation of my 26 years of political commitment within my party, marked by several symbolic candidacies in previous legislative elections," she highlighted, adding that this is her first experience leading a regional list alongside fellow women activists.
