Palmeiras U-19 Team Represents Brazil in Global Football Tournament
Palmeiras’ men’s U-19 team has proudly taken on the role of Brazil's representative at the esteemed Mohammed VI International Tournament, which is currently taking place in Salé, located near Rabat, Morocco, and will continue until Sunday, October 26. The tournament, known for its diverse international participation, features a competitive field of clubs from all corners of the globe. This Wednesday, October 22, marks the commencement of Palmeiras’ journey in the tournament as they face off against the French club Monaco in a pivotal match within Group D. Following this encounter, the team will engage in two additional matches on Thursday, October 23, against Hajduk Split from Croatia and Fath Union, the host Moroccan club.
The Mohammed VI International Tournament is organized by a renowned football academy of the same name, established in 2009 to serve as a premier training center for Moroccan football talent. Each year, the tournament brings together a selection of clubs representing various continents, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie among young athletes.
This year's tournament showcases an impressive lineup of 16 participating teams, which includes not only the Brazilian representatives but also notable clubs such as Boca Juniors from Argentina, Como 1907 from Italy, Vitória SC from Portugal, and English teams Nottingham Forest and Leeds United. Additionally, teams from the United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Qatar will also compete, making for an exciting array of matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the subsequent stages of the tournament, heightening the stakes for all involved.
