The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to host its inaugural event in North Africa, the PFL Africa semifinals, on October 10 at the esteemed Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca. This highly anticipated event will showcase tournament bouts across three weight divisions, culminating in an exciting heavyweight main event, as fighters vie for a coveted spot in the finals later this year.
PFL Africa 3: 2026 Playoffs marks a significant milestone for the organization, as it seeks to amplify its presence on the African continent. The competition will feature fighters representing nine different African nations, highlighting the diverse talent that the region has to offer. The event is expected to attract combat sports enthusiasts eager to witness the thrilling matchups that will determine the finalists in the bantamweight, welterweight, and lightweight categories.
Star Fighters Set to Compete in High-Stakes Bouts
The heavyweight main event will see Senegal's Abdoulaye Kane (5-2) take on Morocco's Badr Medkouri (9-3). Kane has demonstrated his prowess in the cage, securing all five of his victories by stoppage, with four of those wins coming by way of knockout. Medkouri, known for his striking ability, boasts an impressive record with eight knockouts among his nine victories. This clash promises to deliver explosive action as both fighters aim to assert their dominance.
In the bantamweight co-main event, the unbeaten Algerian-Canadian Karim Henniene (7-0) will face Nigeria's Raphael Uchegbu (11-2). Henniene showcased his skills by submitting his opponent in the first round at PFL Africa: Nigeria in June, while Uchegbu secured a unanimous decision victory on the same event, setting the stage for a captivating semifinal showdown.
The bantamweight division will also feature Liberia's Dwight Joseph (16-3) against Angola's Boule Godogo (5-2), while the welterweight semifinals are set to include Angola's Shido Boris Esperanca (12-2) against South Africa's Peace Nguphane (9-3), and Guinea-Bissau's Rivaldo Pereira (4-2) taking on Nigeria's unbeaten David Samuel (6-0).
Furthermore, the lightweight bracket will highlight an all-Nigerian contest between Patrick Ocheme (9-1) and Cornel Thompson (12-3), alongside Senegal's Demba Seck (11-3) going head-to-head with Chad's Hussain Al Kurdi (3-0).
