Crackdown on Drug Trafficking in Marrakech
In a significant law enforcement operation, the urban police investigation team of the first security district in Marrakech successfully apprehended a suspect known by the alias "Pompers" on Monday, June 15. The suspect, a thirty-something individual with a criminal record, has been the subject of multiple search warrants due to his suspected involvement in drug trafficking activities. The arrest was made possible through a meticulously planned security ambush near the Marrakech police headquarters, which resulted in the discovery of a number of cocaine wraps prepared for distribution.
Following the initial arrest, and in coordination with the relevant public prosecutor's office, police officers proceeded to the suspect's residence located near the Oudaya Secondary School in the historic area of Marrakech. A subsequent legal search of the premises yielded an additional quantity of drugs, believed to be intended for similar illicit activities related to drug trafficking. The arrested individual is currently under police custody, awaiting further investigation supervised by the public prosecutor’s office. This inquiry aims to delve deeper into the potential extensions of this criminal enterprise, as well as to identify other possible accomplices before they are brought to justice.
