The General Directorate of Meteorology has disclosed the rainfall measurements recorded across various regions of Morocco between midday on Friday and midday on Saturday. The data reveals that the city of Ben Guerir topped the list of areas most benefited from the recent rainfall, marking a significant weather event for the region.
Ben Guerir recorded the highest rainfall amount, reaching 34 millimeters, surpassing Marrakech, which experienced 25 millimeters. Following closely was Oujda, with 21 millimeters, indicating a clear disparity in rainfall distribution among several cities and regions over the past twenty-four hours.
Other notable measurements included Ifrane at 18 millimeters, Taza Airport at 17 millimeters, and Khouribga at 14 millimeters. Additionally, Beni Mellal received 10 millimeters, while Bouarfa and Midelt recorded 9 millimeters each. Taroudant saw a lower amount of 4 millimeters.
In regions with even lower rainfall, Nador, Tawrirt, and Safi each recorded 3 millimeters, while Meknes, Laayoune, and Al Hoceima noted 2 millimeters. Areas such as Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, Settat, and Guelmim logged less than 1 millimeter of rainfall.
This rainfall data highlights the ongoing variation in meteorological conditions across the kingdom, as concerned stakeholders continue to monitor the evolving weather patterns and their implications on water resources and agricultural activities. The contrasting figures underscore the need for adaptive management strategies in response to these weather fluctuations.
