The upcoming elections for the regional list in the Marrakech-Safi region are expected to witness intense competition among various political parties vying for the ten parliamentary seats allocated to this electoral district. Pursuing Parliamentary Representation

As the race intensifies, several political parties are still deliberating over their candidate lists for this legislative district. Many are engaged in negotiations to finalize the names of female representatives who will participate in these crucial elections. In contrast, some parties have already confirmed their candidates and announced their commitment to this electoral process, demonstrating their proactive preparation for the forthcoming elections.

Among the notable candidates, Nadia Idrissi Salitine from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has entered the competition, while Selma Ahlouch has been declared the candidate for the Independence Party. Hind Rouisi will be representing the Justice and Development Party (PJD), alongside Mariam Kanouni from the Progress and Socialism Party. Meanwhile, the National Rally of Independents is determined to maintain its parliamentary seat with candidate Rashida Ait Bouazza, and the Socialist Union of Popular Forces has placed Khadija Al-Akrud at the forefront of its regional list.

Dominance of PAM Women

Reflecting on the previous regional elections held on September 8, 2021, the Authenticity and Modernity Party showcased its dominance in the Marrakech-Safi region, where many of its leading figures are based. In those elections, PAM secured two out of ten seats, led by candidate Nadia Benzedafa, who garnered an impressive 272,013 votes. The National Rally of Independents followed in second place, with candidate Mariam Rmaili receiving 249,634 votes, while Sahar Abdouh from the Independence Party came third with 185,424 votes.

Additionally, Sana Benin from the Constitutional Union won her parliamentary seat through the regional list, followed by Hanan Fattaras from the Socialist Union of Popular Forces and Malika Akshkoush from the Progress and Socialism Party. Azizah Boujarida from the Popular Movement Party also secured a seat with 73,199 votes, while Aisha Al-Kout from the Justice and Development Party captured another seat with 36,525 votes. Finally, the tenth spot was claimed by Mariam Al-Masqi from the Democratic Social Movement Party.
