Announcement of National Renewable Energy Certificate Registry
On March 27, the Directorate of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, which is part of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (MTEDD), launched a call for expressions of interest aimed at selecting an operator, whether Moroccan or foreign, capable of designing, deploying, and operating a national registry of origin certificates for electricity generated from renewable sources. This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the management and verification of renewable energy production in Morocco, ensuring transparency and accountability in the energy sector.
This move is part of Morocco's broader strategy to bolster its renewable energy infrastructure and transition towards sustainable energy practices. By establishing a robust registry, the country aims to facilitate the certification process for renewable electricity, making it easier for producers to validate their green energy contributions and for consumers to understand the origins of their electricity supply.
