Building Bridges Between Morocco and Spain
The official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Navigation of Spain in Casablanca has initiated a significant platform aimed at enhancing trade relations between Morocco and Spain. This initiative, in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Seville, represented by Prodetur, and the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Seville (AJE Seville), culminated in the inaugural Sevilla-Morocco Business Meeting held on March 26 in the vibrant city of Casablanca. The primary objective of this event is to foster successful bilateral trade relationships between companies from Sevilla and Morocco, thereby encouraging investment and networking in key sectors, while also promoting cooperation as a vital strategic link between Africa and Europe.
The forum provided an excellent opportunity for Spanish companies to showcase their products and services to prospective clients in North Africa. Participants explored various investment opportunities and established alliances and partnerships that could stimulate growth in promising economic sectors for both nations. The participating companies hailed from a wide array of industries, including architecture and construction, hospitality and tourism, finance and insurance, real estate, legal and tax services, cosmetics, agricultural and industrial machinery, engineering, travel agencies, sports, software development and automation, business associations, and the organization of major international cultural events.
With an emphasis on strengthening bilateral trade relations, the event also aimed to reinforce Euro-African strategic cooperation and boost investment in essential sectors such as agri-food, renewable energies, logistics, technology, and tourism. Supported by institutional backing, this business gathering in Morocco's economic capital brought together over 120 entrepreneurs from Sevilla and Morocco, who shared their experiences to foster the development of vital sectors for both current and future economies.
The event's agenda featured two exemplary entrepreneurial success stories: Tejwheels S.L. and Pulman Security S.L., represented by Eduardo Jiménez Burgos and Nassime Rais Bentahar, respectively. The day's proceedings were further enriched by insights from Houda Benghazi, the Vice-President of the Hispano-Moroccan Arbitration Court, who emphasized the role of this institution as a catalyst for business relations between the two countries.
Notable attendees included the Spanish Ambassador to Morocco, Enrique Ojeda Vila; the Consul General of Spain in Casablanca, Luis Belzuz de los Ríos; the Vice-President of Prodetur, Rodrigo Rodríguez Hans; the President of the Casablanca Chamber of Commerce, Sonia Ventosa García-Morato; and the President of AJE Sevilla, Miguel Ángel Pérez. This event is envisioned as a bridge for Mediterranean and Atlantic leaders, promoting communication, information, and cultural understanding.
