In a recent joint press briefing held alongside Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Ivorian Foreign Minister Mr. Kaba underscored the significance of the Atlantic African States Process. This initiative, along with a Royal Initiative aimed at enhancing access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, was a focal point of their discussions. Mr. Kaba, who is on her inaugural working visit to Morocco, expressed a strong appreciation for the deep-rooted historical ties that link Côte d'Ivoire and Morocco. She commended the longstanding bilateral cooperation that has flourished under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara.
During the briefing, the Ivorian diplomat emphasized the active role of the Moroccan private sector in Côte d'Ivoire, noting that Moroccan enterprises play a crucial role in the nation's economic development and are involved in key infrastructural projects. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to explore avenues for enhancing economic cooperation and invigorating investments and bilateral exchanges, particularly through the Morocco-Côte d'Ivoire Economic Impetus Group. Furthermore, Mr. Kaba articulated Côte d'Ivoire’s keen interest in leveraging Morocco's expertise in economic development and South-South cooperation, particularly in the pursuit of the goals set forth in Côte d'Ivoire’s National Development Plan for 2026-2030. Additionally, she expressed sincere gratitude for the scholarships that Morocco grants annually to Ivorian students, highlighting the vital role of bilateral cooperation in education and skill development.
