In a swift and decisive operation, the Royal Gendarmerie in the town of Chouiter successfully apprehended a young man in his twenties this morning after he launched an attack on the imam of a mosque located in the Douar Moulay Jafar area under the jurisdiction of Sidi Ghiat, immediately following the Fajr prayer. Initial reports indicate that the suspect, who was in an altered state, wielded a large knife, measuring approximately 17 inches, and attempted to assault the imam under circumstances that are still being investigated.
Upon notification of the incident, gendarmerie forces swiftly arrived at the scene, where their prompt intervention led to the arrest of the individual in question and the confiscation of the weapon used in the assault.
