Innovative Digital Bootcamp in Casablanca: Empowering Moroccan Youth through AI

From October 19 to 24, 2023, Casablanca, Morocco will host the "Hack4Bladi" bootcamp, organized by the regional directorate of the Ministry of Youth in Casablanca-Settat, in collaboration with the National Institute of Innovation and Advanced Technologies (INITA). This initiative aims to connect digital innovation with social impact, focusing on how artificial intelligence can address pressing social issues faced by the youth.

Rochdi Erroueiti, the regional director of the Ministry of Youth in Casablanca-Settat, highlighted the alignment of this initiative with the High Royal Instructions aimed at promoting artificial intelligence among young people. He emphasized that the event seeks to develop AI-based solutions that tackle various challenges encountered by the youth, thereby fostering a proactive approach to technology.

Mohamed Reda Bouayad, head of the youth programs division at the Ministry, added that this bootcamp presents a unique opportunity for Moroccan youth to transition from being mere consumers of artificial intelligence to becoming producers of digital services. Participants, who are beneficiaries of the Youth Pass program, will come from all regions of the country to share their expertise and collaborate on innovative projects.

Abdellatif Belmokaddem, president of INITA, noted that attendees will have the chance to explore the latest technologies to devise impactful solutions. This pilot experience offers an immersive environment that goes beyond conventional technical training, promoting a holistic understanding of the digital landscape.

The bootcamp places significant emphasis on AI ethics, personal data protection, and responsible technology use. It combines practical training, specialized mentoring, and collaborative work among teams from various regions, fostering knowledge sharing and experiential learning.

The event will culminate in the presentation of 16 digital prototypes to a panel of experts, where outstanding projects will be recognized and rewarded. Beyond the competitive aspect, organizers aim to establish a national network of young innovators who can continue to develop their projects, contributing to Morocco's digital transformation.
