Al Ahly's Pursuit of Moroccan Striker Sofiane Ben Jdida Intensifies Amidst Competition

Recent reports from Moroccan media have unveiled significant developments in Al Ahly's negotiations to secure the services of Moroccan forward Sofiane Ben Jdida, who currently plays for Wydad Fes. The club is keen on bolstering its attacking line ahead of the upcoming season, especially during this summer transfer window. As the negotiations progress, it has become evident that there are challenges ahead, particularly with competing offers from other clubs.

According to Moroccan journalist Yassine Kabibi, the management of Wydad Fes has officially rejected Al Ahly's initial offer, which was valued at 2.5 billion Moroccan centimes, equivalent to approximately 2.6 million USD. The refusal came after they received a more lucrative proposal from a Russian club, prompting them to dismiss Al Ahly's bid. This situation has put additional pressure on Al Ahly's coaching staff, led by Moroccan coach Hussein Amouta, who is urging the club's administration to expedite the deal.

In response, Al Ahly's management is doubling down on their efforts to strike an agreement with Wydad Fes. The negotiations have entered a new phase, aimed at convincing the Moroccan club to release Ben Jdida during the current transfer period. Sources within Al Ahly have revealed that Amouta is actively engaging with the player and his family to persuade them to consider a move to the Egyptian giants. Notably, the Ben Jdida family harbors aspirations for the player to eventually transition to a European club, should he leave Wydad Fes.

With the clock ticking towards the start of the new season, Al Ahly is prioritizing the completion of this deal to reinforce their offensive capabilities. The competitive landscape includes ongoing interest from foreign clubs, making it imperative for Al Ahly to act swiftly to secure the Moroccan striker's signature.
